I swear my mom talks about her 'ideas' or her 'recent endeavors' so much, she's just saying them for self-assurance.
Why? Simple.
Agree with her? She'll go on and on and on and eventually look for your opinion, then WHATEVER you say she will criticize, or ask for ANOTHER OPINION that you would likely get wrong, ORRRRR.
Roundabout in one huge circle then go about the same thing again.
Disagree with her? She gets pissed. She says you are an ingrate, [poison tongue mode on!] and everything else.
